Working across painting, installation, sculpture and film, my practice is focused on the pleasure of the gesture. I use delicate fabrics to explore the breaking point of fragility that connects to a new reality. Painting becomes a structure to be immersed and a space to be activated by the body. My research in abandoned and derelict spaces has led my exploration into how sensory conventions and materials question permanence. These spaces share a spectral presence and cultural afterlife lived on as a ruin and transform our role from viewer to the experiencer.
